Why Donate Blood?

Here at Gilbert Queen Creek Emergency Veterinarian & Pet Urgent Care, we offer the opportunity for healthy patients to donate blood to other furry friends in need. Dogs and cats both need blood in many emergency situations, and involving our healthy pets to help donate is a fun and rewarding experience for both pet owners and their loved ones. We have partnered with Canine Blood Heroes, a company that specializes in the canine donation process and blood products.

With only a 30 minute visit to our clinic, a single donation can offer different types of blood products such as whole blood, packed red blood cells, and plasma which can save 2-4 lives the same day!

“I Give Blood because I’ve Got Too Much Awesome to Keep to Myself”

Donating blood is rewarding for both parties and comes with incentives!

At the time of donation, your pet will receive a blood donor bandana and a dog tag that says “My blood saves lives”. You will also receive a $50.00 credit to the clinic of your choice after each donation. Our donors also receive social media recognition!

Other benefits if your pet is eligible to be a blood donor:

  • A Full Physical Exam by One of Our Vets
  • Free Annual Comprehensive Lab Work
  • Free Blood Transfusions for Life if Your Pet Were to Need One
  • 10% off Emergency Care
