Administration

Crystal, CVT – Hospital Director

Crystal was born and raised in Arizona. She completed her veterinary technician program in February of 2020 at Pima Medical Institute. Crystal’s passion is to help animals as much as she can. She graduated from Pima Medical and received her CVT licensing in April of 2022. She has one dog of her own, whose name is Skeeter. She also loves to go camping in Flagstaff, AZ during the summer and the sand dunes in California during the winter!

Stephanie – Hospital Administrator

Stephanie is a dog mom and rescuer originally from Iowa, but has spent most of her life in the south. After spending the majority of her adult life in real estate, she was given an opportunity to work in emergency and general practice veterinary medicine a few years ago and she can’t imagine being in any other field of work. She grew up with dogs, cats, and even a few hermit crabs but tends to prefer pets that bark and neigh the most. She is a Chandler High School graduate of AZ, but she can’t wait to retire back by the beaches of North Carolina.

Client Services

Samantha – Lead CSR

Sam is originally from California. Her love for animals started from a young age. Her aunt had a veterinary facility in California where she also raised Staffordshire terriers. This is where her love for pit bulls came from.

She moved to Arizona in 2013, started in the veterinary field in 2014 as a veterinary assistant, and worked her way up to a veterinary technician.  She decided that although she had a passion for surgery, her area of expertise was in client care and communication. She makes it her mission to go above and beyond to make sure client and patient care is a priority. She is very excited to start growing and learning more about the ER side of Veterinary Medicine!

Sam lives with her fiancé and two daughters, Stella and Laynee. Their pets include their two dogs Olaf, a Husky, and Meadow, and American Staffordshire Terrier. In their free time they like to watch football and baseball (go Packers and Angels!). They also love to take their girls to Disneyland when they can.

Thomas – CSR

Thomas is a California born, Arizona raised individual. With a passion and drive for client services. This is Thomas’s first time in vet med and he hopes to help as many of your furry friends as he can!  In his spare time Thomas likes to Read, explore Arizona and spend time with his three pets: Milo (a pug), Jasper (a gray tabby) and Sam (an orange tabby).

Heaven – Training Coordinator

Growing up, Heaven lived in California, Japan, Germany, and Las Vegas before moving to Southern California to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at California State University Channel Islands. Heaven is new to the veterinary field and is so excited that she is able to follow her childhood dream of working with animals. She has two cats, Misty the tuxedo and Link the tabby. In her free time, Heaven loves traveling, reading, and playing video games.

Alexis

Alexis is from Peoria Illinois but has been calling the valley home for the past 9 years. She’s been around animas most of her life whether it be pets in the family or her own. She has two kitties named Mickey and Mittens. She has a younger sister and an older sister, making her a middle child. Her hobbies include listening to music, watching old movie.

Kiana

Kiana Beach was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. With over 10 years
of experience in customer service, Kiana has built a strong reputation for her
dedication to client satisfaction. She and her wife relocated to Arizona four years
ago and bought their first home in 2021.

Outside of work, Kiana enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her
wife and dogs, often relaxing by watching the Arizona sunsets. As a child, she
dreamed of working with animals, a passion she continues to cherish.

Technicians

Skyler, CVT – Manager

Skyler was born in Illinois and grew up there before moving to Arizona in 2010. She always grew up around animals and currently has a Doberman mix named Westlyn, a Belgian Malinois named Laramie, and a boxer named Molina! In her free time she enjoys going to all the country concerts, watching baseball, and being outside with friends and family. She became a Certified Veterinary Technician in the spring of 2024, and continues to fall in love with the craziness of emergency medicine every day!

Jenna, CVT – Manager

Jenna was born and raised in Gilbert Arizona and has always had a passion for helping animals. As a child, she spent the majority of her time on her grandparents’ land helping take care of the feral cats and guardian dogs. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2023 and passed her VTNE in March of 2024. When she is not working you can often find her cuddled up with her 5 animals (Spooky, Tuxedo, Shamrock, Hela, and Thor) and reading a good book.

Rafael, CVT, CVBL – Lead Sonographer

Rafael was born in Venezuela and moved to the United States in 2015. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Central University of Venezuela (U.C.V), and has been working in the Veterinary field for more than 10 years. He is most passionate about Veterinary imaging techniques like X-Rays, Ultrasonography, etc. As hobbies, he loves reading comics, novels, listening to heavy metal, going to concerts, traveling, but most importantly spending time with his family and loved ones. Rafael’s best friend is his dog Alexander.

Kristen – Ultrasound Technician

Kristen was born in California and raised in both Arizona and New Mexico. After working as a kennel attendant in high school, she decided to pursue a career in Vet Med. After graduating in 2009, she went on to study Animal Science at New Mexico State University. Life had other plans for her as she welcomed her first child in 2011. Six years later, she finally returned to Vet Med as a technician working with Horses, Cattle, Pigs, Sheep, Dogs,  Cats… and an occasional Emu! In 2021 she relocated to Arizona to join the GQ Family. She enjoys traveling, all things Disney, volleyball, hiking and exploring the great outdoors with her four beautiful children, a goofy Boxer mix named Kookie and a crazy Cane Corso named Korra!

Dani, CVT – ICU Lead Technician & Education Operations Coordinator

Dani was born and raised here in the valley and has always had a love for taking care of animals. She is currently completing her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology at Mesa Community College and plans on taking the VTNE in November of 2021 to earn her certification. After becoming a CVT, Dani would like to specialize in emergency and critical care. She is a fur-mother to her 3 dogs, Gizmo, Jax, and Kirby. When she is not at work caring for your pets, she loved spending time with her fur babies, playing video games, and enjoying the outdoors.

Natalie – Lead Technician

I am from Lodi, California and moved here to Arizona in 2005. I have always loved animals and always knew I wanted to help take care of them ever since I was little. I am so happy to be part of the GQ family and help every pet that walks through the door. I am also certified in personal training, I love being active and spending time with my precious angel, Nala.

Hailey – Lead Technician & Training Coordinator

I started working in the veterinary industry when I was 15 years old. Initially, I was part of the Veterinary Assistant program at EVIT, and later, I completed the Veterinary Technician program at Pima Medical Institute. Since then, I have adopted eight animals, bringing my “pack” total to ten. I have seven dogs and three cats. When I’m not at work, you can find me hiking, scuba diving, surfing, and soaking up the sun in Hawaii.

Donna, CVT – Lead Technician

Donna grew up in Queen Creek, Arizona and loves the desert! She is a dedicated veterinary technician with a passion for both equine and emergency medicine. Starting her career in equine medicine, she quickly transitioned into emergency small animal care, where her love for the fast-paced, hands-on environment thrives. Donna graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2023 with an Associate’s Degree and is focused on advancing her expertise with the long-term goal of becoming a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care.

Outside of her career, Donna enjoys cooking, experimenting with new recipes, and planting new herbs and vegetables. She also values the simple joys of life, often spending time relaxing and snuggling with her beloved dogs, Chevy and Hudson.

Alexa, CVT – Specialty Surgery Technician

Alexa was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, but has lived in AZ for most of her life. She completed her veterinary technician program from PIMA medical institute in February 2021 and obtained her CVT licensing in November 2021. Alexa’s passions are emergency veterinary medicine and specialty surgery and being able to care for animals and make them feel comfortable while in hospital. She has a black cat named Spooky Boy that she rescued in October 2019 and 4 horses (Charcoal, Niff, Rolex and Aja) that Alexa rescued and obtained over the years. In her free time she loves riding and showing her horses in all around competitions, hanging out with her boyfriend and just relaxing or going on adventures with friends!

Angelia – Specialty Surgery Technician

Angelia is originally from Northern New Mexico and moved to Arizona 9 yrs. ago with her husband and 4 kids. She decided to become a veterinarian technician because her daughter wanted to be a veterinarian when she grows up. She absolutely loves her new career and can’t wait to be a Certified Veterinarian Technician in the state of Arizona.

Sydney – Specialty Surgery Technician

Sydney was born in Spokane, Washington and raised in Arizona. She started working as a technician in GP after her boyfriend and her bought their house in San Tan Valley in 2022. Sydney quickly learned that she wanted to do more within the industry and started working at GQ in August of 2023 as a technician. It is here that she found her place in the Specialty Surgery Department. Sydney has two dogs, a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd (Wrangler ) and a Great Pyrenees (Richard), 4 goats (Teddy, Ginger, Elsa, and Dolly), a horse ( Girly) and chickens. She enjoys taking her horse Girly out on trail adventures and to events. When Sydney is not out with her horse or working she enjoys spending time at home hanging out with her boyfriend and all her animals .

Brandi – Specialty Surgery Technician

Brandi grew up knowing someday she would do something with animals. Brandi didn’t know what until she started working in vet med. Now she couldn’t see herself anywhere else. Brandi’s biggest passions in vet med so far would be surgery and emergency. When she’s not working, you can find her doing something with one of my pets or traveling to see the world. Brandi plans on seeing it all.

Calista, CVT – Valley Fever & Oncology Technician

Calista was born and raised here in Arizona. She has 2 fur babies at home Astro (travel size shepherd) and Miley (the not so photogenic cat).

Kayla, CVT – Training Coordinator

Kayla Hawkins was born and raised here in Arizona. She mainly grew up on a ranch in Desert Hills where she was surrounded by animals; including horses, pigs, chickens, parakeets, dogs- the list goes on! When Kayla was 20 she decided to join the U.S. Air Force and served for just a little over 3 years. After discharging from the Air Force she decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Kayla obtained an Associate’s degree in applied science through Pima Medical Institute’s veterinary technician program. She has been working in vet med since 2017 and couldn’t imagine doing anything else, as this is her true passion.

Kayla’s husband and her welcomed her baby boy, RJ, into this world in November 2022. Along side her son is her 3 dogs. In Kayla’s free time you can find her camping, hunting, trying new restaurants and breweries with her fiancé, and spending time with family.

Sarah – Equipment Technician

Sarah was born and raised in South Africa and moved to the United States in 2016. Her and her husband have since made Arizona their home in 2021. Between her time making sure that the equipment at GQ works to the best of its ability, she is the designated snuggler to our patients during their visit. She has two cats named Baboo and Archer. She loves jigsaw puzzles – the bigger the better! She also enjoys adventuring on both land and water, but equally loves being a couch potato!

Katriana – Cardiology Technician

Katriana is currently attending ASU Polytechnic to earn her degree in pre-veterinary medicine. She was born and raised in California. Katriana loves animal especially, her kitten Mochi and her old dog, Cali. GQ is her first time working in a vet clinic and she cannot wait to help every client and their pet receive the best care possible. Katriana’s goal is to become a surgical veterinarian. In her spare time she loves to read and rewatch her favorite shows.

Jessica, CVT

Jessica was born and raised right in Queen Creek. She’s always had a passion for animals and knew when she grew up that she was going to be helping them but she didn’t know it would end up being in emergency! She has a soft spot for Labradors, so of course she has a 2 year old named Willow. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her family, camping, hunting and spending time with her fur baby. She graduated from the vet tech program in 2022 from Pima Medical Institute. And she very excited to see where this journey takes her.

Bella

Bella was born and raised in Arizona. Bella has always had a passion for medicine, but she realized she wanted to do veterinary medicine a few years ago! Bella graduated from EVIT’s veterinary assisting program in May of 2024. She hopes to continue her education and one day become a veterinarian. In her free time she likes to read, be with her family, and cuddle her two dogs Poppy and Obi along with her step dog Smiley!

Tina, CVT – Training Coordinator

Tina is a U.S. Navy Veteran that was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She graduated from PIMA Medical Institute after completing the Veterinary Technician Program in 2023, achieving an Associates Degree in Applied Science. She elected to complete her externship with the GQ family because she wanted to broaden her knowledge in Emergency Veterinary Medicine after previously working in General Practice. Soon after, Tina passed her VTNE & became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).She has always had a passion for animals growing up. She now has two Pitties, a Maine Coon, and a Bearded Dragon. Her pitties are named “Nyx” and “Nova”. Her Maine Coon is “Saint”. And her Bearded Dragon is “Z”. Tina spends most her off days snuggling with her pets, playing Xbox, and traveling. When she’s not snuggling her own pets, she’s probably snuggling yours.

P.S. Pit Bulls are her favorite (she admits to be biased).

Shelby

Shelby has always had a passion to work in the veterinary field since she was little. She has two dogs named Bear and Bella, both of which are the sweetest dogs to her and her family. Shelby’s hobbies include reading, her favorite genre is fantasy, and another hobby is listening to music. Shelby is currently an ASU college student attending for biological sciences with a pre-vet focus. She hopes to further her education in veterinary field further to become a DVM!

Omar

Omar grew up with all kinds of animals throughout his childhood and grew a passion to help them. Attended Pima Medical Institute and now enjoying working in the vet field. Has a passion for getting the care and peace that the patients deserve. He likes learning and developing his skills to further his career. In his free time he likes sports, working out, and spending time with friends and family.

Vanessa

Vanessa was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. While balancing school and work, she enjoys spending her free time traveling with her family. Having always been surrounded by animals, Vanessa quickly discovered her passion for the veterinary field. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute, where she completed the Veterinary Technician Program. Alongside her fiancé, Vanessa shares her home with three dogs: Manchas (a pit bull mix), Bruno (a poodle mix), and Lobo (a Belgian Malinois mix).

Dylan

Dylan is originally from Arizona and has been raising show pigs since the age of six. Growing up in the livestock industry which lead him to a career in veterinary medicine.

Dylan started working in veterinary clinics three years ago, gaining hands-on experience in both preventative and urgent care. He’s currently a senior at Highland High School, where he participates in FFA and Student Council.

With plans to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) specializing in livestock medicine, Dylan is set on gaining as much experience as possible to prepare for his future. Outside of work and school, he enjoy spending time with their four dogs—two Australian Shepherds, a Doodle, and a Spaniel—who keep life exciting!
