Lefty was an old ranch dog, him and his brother were dropped off to us, the only thing we knew about them were their names. Lefty has always been an out door dog, sleeping in the sun at day and running the hills chasing coyotes at night. He started to grow a liking for goats, so my dad said we need to get rid of him. I decided to take him in and help him stay away from things that were harming him. At first he didn't trust me, didn't have a recall and was distant. As time went on we became best friends, when I'd cry he'd be right at my side. When we would go on night runs and I couldn't find him he'd run to me and put his nose in my hand showing me we were safe. He loved sleeping on his back and belly rubs. Lefty was the best adventure buddy, always going on hikes, I'd read while he dug a hole to take a nap in, he loved the paddle board too. He taught me how to love deeper, he reminded me how much God loves us, because of how much I loved him. This picture is special to me.
